Mike Minkoff
Argonne National Laboratory

Topics: Mathematics of Computing (G) & Algebraic Manipulation (I.1)

Mike Minkoff received a B.S. in Mathematics in 1966 from the University of Wisconsin. He obtained an M.S.E. in Aerospace and Mechanical Sciences in 1968 from Princeton University and M.S. (1970) and Ph.D. (1973) degrees in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin. He was on the faculty of Northern Illinois University before joining Argonne National Laboratory (1973-present). He is also a Visiting Lecturer in SIAM's VLP program.

Mike's interests are in mathematical software, numerical linear algebra and ordinary differential equations, and scientific computation. He is presently interested in the use of interpolated moving least-squares methods for calculating potential energy surfaces, and large-scale eigenproblems in quantum chemistry. He has authored nearly 50 papers and given over 100 presentations.
