Shawn Bohner

Shawn Bohner is an associate professor of computer science at Virginia Tech. His research focuses largely on engineering software systems that are change tolerant and evolve effectively with their environments. Prior to joining Virginia Tech, he was Vice President of Performance Engineering at the META Group (now Gartner Group), a leading syndicated research and advisory firm where he directed the research program for the quantitative arm of the company serving Global 2000 information technology executives.
Bohner has also held responsible positions at the MITRE Corporation, GTE Laboratories, the Software Productivity Consortium, and Ford's Western
Development Laboratories. He holds BS and MS degrees in computer science from the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins University, and a PhD from
George Mason University. He is active in both the Association for Computing
Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
(IEEE). Bohner is a past member of the executive committee for the IEEE
Technical Council on Software Engineering, and is the past chair of the ACM Professional Development Committee in Washington, DC. Bohner is the co-editor in chief for Innovations in Systems and Software Engineering, and a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Software Maintenance and Evolution.
